Rev. Dr. David L. Kelley II Senior Pastor
Christ Fellowship Baptist Church

Brooklyn, New York

The Reverend Dr. David Lawrence Kelley II began his ministerial career in 1972. A native of Detroit, Michigan, he was licensed and ordained to preach the gospel at his home church, which was pastored by his father, the late Rev. David Kelley Sr.

Dr. Kelley completed his undergraduate studies at Bishop College in Dallas, Texas, and further qualified himself for the ministry by obtaining his Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. His intrinsic desire for increased knowledge led him to earn a doctorate from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio in 1994.

Cherishing the value of a solid spiritual foundation, in 1982 Dr. Kelley organized the Christ Fellowship Baptist Church located in Brooklyn, New York, where, after thirty-seven years, he continues to serve faithfully as pastor. He has witnessed a sizeable increase in the church's membership and continues to foster their spiritual growth. Dr. Kelley and the Christ Fellowship family continue to be thankful for the blessing of the “Blue Church of Brooklyn” which held its grand opening in February 2010. Their new edifice has served to claim new souls since that opening day and remains a beacon of hope within its community. To God be the glory! Dr. Kelley’s faith, vision, and oft-uttered motto continue to serve as a testament that truly, "there are blessings all around us".

A well-sought lecturer, teacher, preacher, revivalist, and retreat and workshop leader, Dr. Kelley has preached the message of God's love citywide, nationally and internationally. He has received numerous honors, awards, citations, scholarships and fellowships; among them is his designation in "Who's Who Among American Young Men" and the Benjamin E. Mays Fellowship for Theological Education.

A proud and devoted family man, Dr. Kelley is married to the former Kim Marie Wynn. They are joyfully blessed to have raised and continue to share in the lives of their three dynamic children: two daughters, Danielle and Ashley, and one son, Aaron; a daughter-in-law, Nekia; and a grandson, Jeremiah.
